The Advanced Nitriding To Improve The Corrosion & Fatigue Resistance

The   purpose of nitriding  is to increase the surface hardness of the steel and improve its wearing properties. This treatment takes place in a medium(gas or salt) which gives off nitrogen. In nitriding , nitrogen diffuses into the steel and forms hard , wear resistant nitrides. This results in an intermetallic surface layer with good wearing and frictional properties. advanced nitriding  is done in gas at about 510 degree celcius. The process therefore requires steels that are resistant to tempering in order that the core strength is not reduced. The main aim of surface engineering is to improve the superficial properties of materials while the bulk properties – such as mechanical strength   , impact resistance   , density etc. Although wear and fatigue are considered to be mechanical damage  , they are often coupled with corrosion.

Surface engineering is to improve the superficial properties of materials while the bulk properties – such as mechanical strength  , impact resistance , density are still maintained.  Surface modification is predominantly used to improve surface features against mechanical damage. nitriding solutions  is one of the most important and common surface modification processes , can improve the surface corrosion resistance of steel parts along with increasing wear and fatigue resistance.
